Again: Use what you have

A lot of people buy something nice and then keep it away just for a special occasion or they never use it thinking it will get spoiled. Use what you have, if it looks worn out with use you can always buy something new and more exciting. Don't wait until it stops fitting you or you no longer exist to enjoy it!

Vaneli

I started with red shoes but then wore the good old Vaneli, I like the second look better.

Vaneli are the most comfortable high heeled booties that I have ever used.

Ugly UGG

A few years ago I got these UGGs as a gift, I find them ugly and yet use them every other day.

They are extremely comfortable to walk long distances, they are light and super warm, perfect for the rainy & cold weather in Seattle.

Good looks are seldom directly proportional to usability, reliability and a great performance.

Utilize what you have

I have a big basket where I put the used clothes (that are washed and ironed). I don't bring them back in the closet until I use (almost) everything remaining in the closet. This is a great way to utilize everything that you have. This also makes one realize how much stuff they already have!
You can try similar thing for jewelry.

How do you wash your clothes?

For all your outside clothes use the handwash mode in washing machines. Don't use machine drying as so much of heat spoils the clothes instead use a clothes drying rack.

How often do you wash your clothes?

Don't wash denims/ jackets/ skirts/ scarves every time you use them unless of course if they are dirty/ smelly. This elongates their life span. How often should you wash them - See HERE

Magical Side Trips

We make career decisions at an early age then put on blinders and gallop towards our determined destination. Why don’t we just enjoy our journey and explore the magical side trips?

We cannot know what adventure awaits us or how those side trips affect our lives but are we missing something grand because we decide to stay on the same path?

True Potential

I don’t know about you but since I was 10-11 I was asked what I wanted to be and many times it was assumed by others that I would do what my siblings were doing.

How do children at that age decide what they are going to do before even having any idea of who they are or who they are blossoming into? Can choosing prematurely lead to not reaching our dreams and miss our potential? Has this happened to you?

Month in Review - Jan 2016

In January Seattle weather was dark, cold, gloomy and it rained almost everyday. Feb seems to have brought some sunshine.

Sharing an old song  by Joni Mitchell - 'Urge for going'.
